Jay Shooster, born and raised in South Florida, has deep roots in the community. His upbringing instilled a strong appreciation for Jewish traditions and Holocaust education. Jay's family has long supported the Jewish Federation and the Anti-Defamation League, fueling his dedication to protecting the Jewish community and combating antisemitism.
With a Juris Doctor from NYU School of Law, Jay is well-equipped to drive meaningful change. He resides in Boca Raton and is an advocate for organ donation, having donated a kidney through the National Kidney Registry in 2019.
Jay's legal work has focused on representing environmental, animal welfare, and labor rights organizations. His efforts have led to the removal of misleading marketing claims and have been featured in major media outlets. As a former Adjunct Professor at Brooklyn Law School and guest speaker at law schools nationwide, Jay educates students about public interest legal advocacy.
As an AI Policy Fellow at the Center for the Future Mind at FAU, Jay advocates for responsible AI regulation. He actively volunteers with organizations such as the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) and Moms Demand Action, helping to revitalize the JDCA Florida chapter.
